BUTTONS, VOL. 2 is Red Bucket Films follow-up to their first feature length disposable film, which reveals the poetry that exists everywhere if you know where to look. $10


Saturday, March 6th at Artist Television Access [map]
2pm: Artist Spotlight: Ben Slotover & Peter Waldeck [trailer]
Matinee screening will be followed by Q&A with the filmmakers. This extravaganza of film and live performance details Jim and Heinz's travels to the future, time spent with a giant robot named Zantrox, and what it would be like if the video game Monkey Ball was actually real life.

3:30pm: Artist Spotlight: Alex Itin[trailer]
Matinee screening will be followed by Q&A with the filmmaker. Alex Itin, a New York-based filmmaker, writer, performance artist, and painter, was a favorite of DFF09. This program of short films shines features painstaking animation, video diaries, and dramatic literary adaptations. $6 each or both for $10


Sunday, March 7th at Artist Television Access [map]
12noon: Disposable Filmmaking Workshop
Community Director at Vimeo.com, Blake Whitman watches a lot of videos, and so he knows a thing or two about what makes a good film. In this workshop, he'll go over everything from basic shooting techniques, editing styles, and instruct how to stitch photos together to create an animation (known around the interwebs as photomotion). Class starts at noon and breakfast is provided. Free!
DFF NYC SCREENING @ Anthology, 9.22.09 We're back at Anthology Film Archive with another great line up of films! Fresh off the boat from screenings in London, Paris, and Brussels, we'll start the evening with a selection of films from our 2009 program, including the work of Fritz Donnelly.

We'll then move straight into the World Premiere of Buttons Vol 2, a full-length disposable film by New York's own Red Bucket Films!

Program Starts at 8pm.
Tickets are $10, only at the door.
Anthology is located at 32 2nd Avenue, between 1st and 2nd St (closest stop is the F,V)

DFF in Paris
This year the DFF 09 program is being shown in the 5th annual screening of Pocket Film Festival, taking place in Paris, June 12-14, 2009.

So if you're a DFF fan in Paris, this is a great opportunity to see some of our program and check out the coolest festival in France.

London's legendary and longest running active film club, Exploding Cinema will be showing the DFF '09 program as well as a special live set by Belgium's Cinema Sonore: An amazing fusion of live visuals, music and animation from Stefan Martens & Joeri Dobbeleir.

DFF/826 Valencia Workshop Screening This Sunday 11.16 (which also happens to be Carlton's b-day) we'll be screening films made during the 826 Workshop we taught this Fall. The kids all made pretty amazing films (especially in the short amount of time they had). And we'll also be showing a few selections from our '08 program.

November 6, 2008 - Screening in New York CIty! This Thursday (11.6.08) at 8pm we'll be screening selections from the 2008 DFF program as well as the world premiere of the Disposable Feature Film "Buttons" by NY filmmakers Red Bucket Films at Anthology Film Archives in New York's East Village.

Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets are $10 at the door.
And come celebrate with us afterwards at Bowery Electric (corner of Bowery and 2nd).
